Join OARP

Dear Prospective Member,
We are excited that you have expressed an interest in the Ohio Alliance of Recovery Providers. OARP is a CEO-only organization formed to provide a pro-active representation for AOD programs in the State of Ohio. Our members come from all corners of the state and represent myriad of institutions with regards to populations served, services offered, and funding structures.

Our members (and OARP as an organization) are active in numerous committees around the state, including:

  • Executive Leadership Committee of the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities
  • Behavioral Health Transitions Work Group (a collaboration between ODMH, ODADAS, and ODJFS)
  • Coalition for Healthy Committees
  • Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association
  • ODADAS' Ohio Governor's Advisory Council
  • ODADAS' Rules and Policy Stakeholder Group
  • ODADAS' Leadership Group
  • National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
  • Ohio Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
  • Ohio Council of Behavioral Health and Family Services Providers
  • Ohio Citizens Advocates for Chemical Dependency Prevention and Treatment

OARP works closely with Ohio Citizens Advocates and the Ohio Council and regularly invites representatives from their groups to attend OARP meetings and share information. To assist in our efforts, OARP has contracted with the Governmental Policy Group to provide lobbying services. For more effective grassroots efforts, OARP has purchased CapWiz, which allows OARP to suggest messages that individuals can easily send to their political representatives on behalf of the AOD field. Concerning research, the group has a working relationship with researchers at the Kent State University College of Public Health and a political consultant housed in the department of political science at Ohio University.

In an era of ever shrinking budgets for AOD treatment providers, OARP is advocating loudly and consistently for increased budget funding, reduced bureaucratic paperwork, and mandated insurance coverage of treatment services for the public. As ODADAS fluctuates in strength and clout and politicians slash our budgets, OARP will be there to continue to fight for AOD programs. We strive to be the proactive voice for treatment providers in the state of Ohio.

We look forward to you and your organization joining our ranks.

Best,

Eloise V. Traina, President
